VVA Consultants is supporting a specialist infrastructure advisory firm in the search for a Senior Design & Construction Lead to join a major transit project in Los Angeles.

The role is connected to the Sepulveda Transit Corridor, a major rail and tunneling program that will deliver a high-capacity connection between the San Fernando Valley and the Westside—one of the most congested transport corridors in the region.

This is a senior, on-site role within a complex PPP environment, supporting the project through a critical phase of development.

The role

• Provide oversight across design and construction considerations for rail and underground infrastructure
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, designers, and delivery stakeholders
• Support technical decision-making, ensuring solutions are practical and buildable
• Ensure alignment with client requirements and overall project objectives

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review and coordination of multidisciplinary design with a focus on constructability
• Identify technical and delivery risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities
• Interface with engineering teams, construction stakeholders, and project partners
• Support design development across key project milestones, integrating means & methods considerations
• Contribute to technical strategy and overall delivery approach

Profile

• 20+ years of experience in rail, metro, or tunneling infrastructure
• Strong background across both design and construction / delivery of major projects
• Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally within PPP environments
• Strong technical leadership and coordination capabilities
• Experience with LA Metro projects or similar environments
• Based in Los Angeles (or willing to relocate)

Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site)

• This position requires the selected candidate to be based in Los Angeles and working on-site with the project team.
